Supply Chain and Logistics Jobs

Logistics jobs are enormously varied in their scope and application.  On hearing the phrase, most people would assume that all logistics jobs involve heavy goods vehicles and articulated trailers.  Although this is clearly one area of the field, there are many other logistics jobs that cover a wide range of service delivery and order fulfilment than simply truck driving.

What kind of logistic jobs are available?

Many roles based around warehousing and distribution can be classed as logistics jobs, but this only takes into account one part of the entire supply chain process.  Logistics jobs are those that, put simply, ensure that product gets from one place to the next, whether that is delivery of finished goods to customers, retailers or the general public, or moving raw materials into the manufacturing process. There is also a growing industry in not just parcel delivery services but mail delivery as well, in direct, and, many would argue, cheaper and more efficient competition to the traditional Royal Mail operations.  Courier operations, whether on a local or national basis, or one man on a bike, are other examples of this burgeoning market in logistics jobs.

What skills am I likely to need?

What a significant number of logistic jobs require are good communication and numeracy skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.  It would also be advantageous if you are good at working with members of the public or handling queries and enquiries.  It goes without saying that you need a full, clean driving licence.  Whether your skills lie in organisation, administration, driving, selling or customer services, it is highly likely that the logistics sector would offer long term and fulfilling career logistics jobs.

Why use us to find a job?

We are different from other recruitment agencies, we will treat you as a human being and we will work with you to find the right position for you. We do not suffer from professional jealousy, we would not expect you to register exclusively with us. There are other agencies who are aware of job vacancies in the North West or the midlands. Our aim is to find you a position for which you may be suitable and to provide you with the best service we can.
