Job of the Week!

My client is a dynamic, expanding business with an established UK, European and US customer base and exciting growth plans. To support these plans, they are now seeking to appoint an ambitious and hardworking individual to a new role working closely with the existing finance team and supporting the directors. This is a largely autonomous role, but benefiting from significant internal support and would suit either an actively studying part qualified accountant or someone qualified by experience. You will be responsible for producing the monthly management accounts, complete with all analysis of both p&l and balance sheet, managing all foreign currency dealings and letters of credit, and generally providing continued business support to the directors. Although there is plenty of scope for development and learning new aspects of the job, you must be able to demonstrate previous treasury and foreign currency dealings, be comfortable using Pegasus and Excel and have significant experience of producing management accounts upto and including review stage.

My client is an outstanding success story, having emerged from the recession stronger than before it, thanks to a combination of its long standing reputation, the quality of its customer base and its own very high standards of service and delivery. As part of their growth plans, and due in large part to their current project base and immediate prospects, they are looking to recruit an experienced quantity surveyor to a new role. Working closely with the directors and senior Quantity Surveyor, and with an eye towards mentoring the graduate quantity surveyors within the team, you will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of successful project delivery, of managing multiple projects and will have been involved in all aspects of QS work from assessing and negotiating plans and drawings to chasing up stage payments. Your experience needs to be drawn from one of three areas – groundworks contractor to the volume housebuilding sector, from a QS environment within a volume housebuilder or perhaps even from the groundworks contracting arm of a volume housebuilder. You must be confident and articulate with excellent communication skills in written, telephone and face to face situations. This is a fantastic opportunity, with a degree of autonomy not normally associated with roles at this level, and offering both long term job stability and career prospects.
