Managing Director

c£70,000pa + benefits

My client is an outstanding success story, offering a broad range of services in a highly competitive environment but succeeding through their adherence to their core values of quality of work, customer first and offering value for money. A key part of the next stage of their development is to strengthen their management team to bring in skills and knowledge that the business lacks and that will help position the company better in the marketplace. They are therefore seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic individual who has previously held a Managing Director or Divisional Managing Director role to act as both the figurehead of the business and the catalyst for change. Client confidentiality will restrict the information that can be passed on in the early stages, and they ideally only want to talk to candidates with experience either broadly within their own sector, or with the type of clients that they deal with, but key criteria for them include one or more of positioning a SME to maximise shareholder value, either through trade sale or MBO, winning contracts from a starting point of disadvantage and increasing margins across all projects, not through efficiency savings but through better pricing matrices. This is an unusual role in terms of the mix of personality, skills and experience required but one that definitely offers a unique opportunity to stamp one's mark on a business.
