My client is the market leader in its field, with an enviable reputation for quality and innovation, a skilled and highly motivated workforce and clear plans about their future direction. As part of these plans they are now seeking to recruit an ambitious part or newly qualified management accountant to a role working alongside the Finance Director, but with significant day to day interaction with virtually every other department. Broadly speaking, the regular duties are as you would expect of a role at this level in a company this size; management of the ledger teams, particularly ensuring that debtors are kept in close control, controlling payments to foreign suppliers, ensuring that costs are correctly captured and allocated on each job and reviewing all live projects on a monthly basis, in addition to the production of monthly management accounts. It is imperative that you have a manufacturing background, with experience of Bill of Materials and the ability to review works orders to understand how they affect costs and stock. On a strategic level, your role will also involve developing and producing a range of business critical reports to enable the board to take the correct decisions to run the company as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
