My client is one of the longest established businesses in the UK, with a track record of success and ambitious plans moving forward. As part of these plans, they have identified one of their sites as perfect for re-development, and are investing heavily to establish it as its flagship operation. The re-development and regeneration work is well underway, taking place alongside the existing operations, and as such will be completed, or nearing completion, by the time this person comes on board. The person that they are seeking to recruit is an experienced marketeer and operations director preferably from a mixed attractions/retail background to oversee the day to day running of the site, which currently covers four distinct, though interconnected, operations. Much as your broad remit is to maintain operational control and report to the Board on a suite of KPIs, you will be judged as much on your ability to market the entire site, generate footfall and increase it over subsequent seasons, increase the revenue levels from the existing operations, and formulate, market and deliver revenue generating events utilising the outlying grounds and “out of hours” events. This is a unique role, requiring a mix of staff and operational management, board-level reporting, event visualisation and staging and marketing skills, but, in return, you will have complete autonomy (and responsibility) and an incredibly high profile within the business, the local community and the wider sector.
