My client is a real success story with a strong trading track record, solid growth over recent years and exciting, yet achievable expansion plans. As part of these plans, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced and ambitious Sales Director to a role supporting the Board and Managing Director. Responsible both for key account management and the development of the strategic plan, you must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of success within a blue chip sales environment, preferably in mature markets and under significant margin pressure. This role is by no means looking for someone to flog a dead horse; the product that my client manufactures is premium quality. One of the key areas in which they are seeking added impetus is taking the product offerings into new or under-used markets, either using existing success to open new doors or through seeking alternative approaches to previously closed markets. Ultimately the successful candidate will be judged on their ability not just to raise turnover and margin, but also on reducing the reliance on the existing customer base without losing any customers.
