My client is the market leader in its field with a thoroughly deserved reputation for quality, service and reliability. Having enjoyed many years of successful trading, they are now seeking to capitalise on their current market position and are looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious head of sales and marketing into a new role supporting the Managing Director and his growth plans. There are a number of key aspects to the role - developing and managing all aspects of their marketing material, from traditional brochures and media representation to trade exhibitions and e-commerce; devising and implementing a sustainable sales strategy that takes the business into new markets both in the UK and overseas whilst also developing increased sales from the current customer base; and leading the existing sales team. It is crucial that your experience covers all these areas, and also that you are keen to retain hands-on sales and customer involvement, as your credibility and rewards will be based as much on your own sales figures as those of the team; these rewards will be not just financial, but also a seat on the board of Directors in due course for someone fulfilling all aspects of the role.
