Engineering & Site Services Manager

£35,000 - 40,000pa

My client is a real success story in the making, reversing the trend for overseas manufacture and heavily committed to their workforce in Britain. With a growing UK market and exciting international sales opportunities, they have the potential for significant expansion within a very short period of time. To support these realistic and attainable growth plans, they are seeking to appoint an experienced engineering and site services manager to a role working hand-in-hand with the production managers and the other members of the senior team to ensure the manufacturing function is able to support the rest of the business activities. The ideal candidate will have had significant man-management experience, not just in getting the best out of a collection of individuals, but also in terms of planning, scheduling and encouraging flexibility to problem solving. You will have had experience of both planned and reactive maintenance, with up to date knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practice (5S, Kaizen, Lean etc) and also of maintaining all aspects of the site facilities, from changing a light bulb to full compliance with environmental regulations. One thing that sets this role apart from other similar ones is the sheer variety of projects that you will be involved with in addition to your day to day duties. The icing on the cake would be experience within a traditional, labour intensive manufacturing environment, but the key attributes sought are that you are hard working, a team player who can see the bigger picture and the impact of your team on the wider business, and a desire to be part of a genuine British manufacturing success story.
