Sales Engineer


£28,000 - 35,000pa + two bonuses

My client is about to enter an exciting time in its development, building on the quality of its product, its burgeoning reputation and the opportunities offered by new markets. To manage the growth potential in its target US and Canadian markets, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced, ambitious but above all successful sales engineer to a new role that will be partly based in its Lancashire head office but with at least 50% of its time based in North America. The key attributes of the successful candidate are fairly generic for this type of role – a background, and an interest, in mechanical engineering (with preferably some form of qualification in mechanical engineering), experience in the North American market, a proven track record in developing new markets and managing relationships thereafter, and the ability to work autonomously, whether this is planning and organising your own diary and workload, or seeking out and investigating all potential sales leads and opportunities. You must have good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to write and deliver presentations aimed at a blue chip client base. Although the salary may not be as high as other sales engineer roles within mechanical engineering, there are two bonus schemes, and, given the size of the business and where it is in its development, there is significant scope for further career progression and to play a pivotal role in my client’s success.
