Materials Controller

Blackburn

25,000 - 30,000pa

My client is the market leader in its respective field, enjoying an enviable reputation for quality and delivery and both a strong trading history and ambitious, yet realistic growth plans. To support these plans, they are now seeking to appoint an ambitious and experienced materials controller to a new position working closely with the commercial director. This is an unusual and highly varied role, responsible for all aspects of materials control coming into the manufacturing process, and those materials once they are within the business, establishing realistic production plans in line with the new business information system and all aspects of supplier selection and assessment. Initially this will entail setting maximum and minimum stock levels for all materials purchased and improving the sales order process function to suit batch production, but the duties (on both sides) will evolve as the business continues to develop. You must have a strong track record of success within an engineering (preferably automotive) environment, and be able to demonstrate significant success in improving information provision and the development of robust procedures. This is an outstanding opportunity to put all the experience you have gained into practice and be well rewarded, both now and in the longer term.
