My client is a genuine North West success story, with a recession-proof service offering, an exclusively blue chip client base and ambitious, yet achievable growth plans. As part of these plans, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced graduate qualified accountant to a new position working closely with the Managing Director. This is a high profile appointment, key to the development of the business, and is the foundation stone around which the senior management team will be built. The primary focus of your duties will be the financial supervision of the company, including managing and developing the accounts team and implementing improvements in systems and procedures, as well as handling all relationships with external bodies like banks, HMRC and the auditors; your CV must therefore reflect such experience, preferably gained in an expanding, service sector organisation. However, there is tremendous scope for the right person to be involved in a wide range of other areas of the business, and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of involvement in non-finance, commercial projects. This is not a \"stepping stone\" role, offering as it does significant career progression - although the appointment will initially be as financial controller, a board position will be the reward for the initial impact that you make, augmented in time with wider ranging general management responsibilities.
