Our client is a global leader in its niche market, supplying advanced technology to the plastic injection mould industry. Their brand is recognised throughout the industry and enjoys a healthy reputation for quality and reliability. Represented in many countries around the world, the company sees significant export growth opportunities, as the market moves into a new development phase. To maintain and increase its market share during this phase, the company now intends to broaden and strengthen the commercial management of the business with the appointment of an Area Sales Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the sales and marketing activity within your area to achieve agreed sales targets by front line sales negotiation and customer support activity, enquiry handling, convert sales leads into orders, along with building, training, developing, supporting and energising the agency network in your area. You will provide support for the operations, technical and applications functions of the company in their dealings with customers, to ensure smooth communication, successful project completion and maximum customer satisfaction.
The position will be based at the companys Head Office in the UK North West, but will involve extensive international travel. You will already have a very successful track record in international sales in high end capital equipment or raw materials. You should be comfortable selling in diverse cultural environments. The territory is Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, UK and Ireland, Turkey, Middle East, and Africa. Foreign languages would be a distinct advantage, but it is more important that you have an ability to adapt and conform to local customs and business practices, with the sensitivity and intuition to read the mood. You should be trained and practised in advanced selling techniques, with excellent communication skills and credibility at all levels. You will be a self-motivated and energetic individual, who is a solid team player. You should ideally be educated to at least HNC standard, although experience and track record are considered to be more important. You should also have a high level of computer literacy. Career progression and attractive terms of employment are available for the right individual.
