This is an outstanding opportunity for a creative, commercially aware financial director. My client is at the beginning of an exponential growth curve and they are seeking a rare individual with a unique range of skills to manage them through this period. On the one hand, this is a traditional small company financial controller role, with a basic requirement for monthly reporting, cash flow management and managing relationships with external agencies and the bank. On the other hand, you will be working as the right hand person to one of the most dynamic entrepreneurs in the country, interacting on a daily basis with some of the biggest and most powerful businesses in the UK. My client is more interested in a spark in the eyes rather than formal qualifications, but you must be able to demonstrate proven commercial acumen, strong technical skills, particularly in relation to cash control, and an understanding of bid and tender processes. Knowledge of, or exposure to, PFI would be the cherry on the icing. There will never be another opportunity like this, and if the plan comes to fruition, you will never need another job.
