My client is the one everyone will be talking about in ten years time. The company has grown dramatically (by over 55% last year alone), have an order book of nearly £1m currently and receive 20 new orders per week. The reasons for their success thus far are two-fold - they manufacture a simple yet highly innovative product with a wide range of uses and they have won contracts with some of the biggest names across Europe. To continue this growth, they are now looking to strengthen the operational team and implement lean manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma and 5S. As part of these plans, they are looking to recruit an experienced graduate production planner, ideally with a process manufacturing background, to a new role to implement and manage the production planning function; within eighteen months you should be expecting promotion to production manager. This is very much a role covering the entire life cycle of the manufacturing process, assigning delivery dates to customers when an order is placed, managing raw material flows and optimal machine usage and expediting bought-in products for assembly prior to despatch.
